Dude! It's a kit for skaters!

I decided to make a smaller kit to cater to those people who may want to scrapbook photos of their skateboarding adventures.

I'm calling it SK8R.

There's just a few filler and journal cards in the regular sizes (3x4, 4x4, and 4x6) plus some patterns, solids, and digital stickers too!

Something a Little Different

 One of the very first card kits I created was The 50 States - cards for each state in all the sizes you'd need to use in pockets in the Project Life app.

As I've gotten more and more experience with digital scrapbooking, I've noticed that designers will often include digital stickers with their kits. They're simple images with an outline around them that resemble the stickers from your childhood.

So I decided to create a new collection of just digital stickers, with the same "50 States" theme.

I've included all 50 state shapes (plus District of Columbia and continental US shapes) in three different colors - white, black, and gray. These stickers are approximately 4 inches in size.

I've also included the name of each state in nine colors!

And finally, there's a collection of map marker labels that you can attach to your project and then label to point out places you've been, national parks, towns and cities, etc. Three designs and nine colors each!

Hopefully this makes scrapbooking your travel pages more fun!

And On That Farm There Was a [insert barn animal here]...

I was never really happy with the "farm" type cards that were available in the Project Life App, so I decided to make my own, with the theme of Old MacDonald running through my head the whole time! Which is how it got its E-I-E-I-O name!

I stuck to the basic eight colors and a gingham pattern for this kit, and threw in a a few of the most common farm animals (with their accompanying "noise"), a few barns, and called it a complete kit!

A Journaling Card Kit for Valentine's Day

Just popping in with a quick announcement about a new journaling card kit that's now available.

It's called Plum Love and this collection of digital JOURNALING cards is perfect for documenting Valentines day, love notes, or just add to your journal card collection!

I chose to make this kit with "non-traditional" valentines colors--no red or bright pink--but instead a plum purple, mauve, emerald green, and slight gray colors!

My Favorite New Templates

I love to use templates when I scrapbook. There are some times where you don’t want to overthink a page and can just use a template to help without layout ideas!  Some of my favorite templates lately have been from BuzzbeeScraps on Etsy.

They are such easy templates to use to add your own papers, elements, titles, and journaling to.

Here’s the latest template pack, and a page I made using one of them:

I took the “family” template, added in some patterns from the PaperStarrStudio Butterfly Garden kit, swapped out some the template layers for graphics from the butterfly kit, and had a personalized page in no time at all!

If You've Got a Sewing Project, I Have a Kit For You!

Anyone else go home renovation projects during this pandemic? It seems like we always have something going on at our house. And by that I mean my wife has a project! ;)

Her latest endeavor has been to recover a pair of armchairs she found online. And that got me thinking that I probably needed to make a sewing-centric kit.

And that's how I came up with idea for Sew Fun.

Video Game Inspired Kit

It's 2022! Does that mean we can finally start to get back to normal? I sure hope so!

A lot of creative process when it comes to making card kits is looking at the kinds of photos I'm taking (or have taken in the past that haven't been scrapbooked yet), and then trying to find a kit somewhere--either within the Project Life App or from other designers, that fit my needs.

Sometimes I can find a kit that works, but often I don't like the style, or the colors, or the imagery. That's when I start to look for clipart and items I can use to create my own.

That's what I did with my latest kit, GAMER.  I wanted something that was video game-inspired, but the kinds of video games my kids played--Nintendo, Gameboy, PSP, X-box, etc.

Here's what I came up: A collection of 80 digital cards that are (hopefully) perfect for documenting your gaming sessions.

New Year.....New Digital Templates!

If starting off the new year with a new set of three Layered Squares digital scrapbooking templates.  These are designed to feature a couple of square photos on a page, and to fill in the rest with digital papers and elements.

Let's take a look at a sample page made with each of these new templates:

Photos (or cards) could be used in each corner, and then a digital paper (or a panoramic photo) in the middle. The combinations are endless! Here's what I came up with:

Take Inspiration From What's Around You

My wife's a big quilter, so I'm quite familiar with half-square triangles, and pieces of fabric stitched together in all sorts of unique shapes.

That's what inspired my latest kit.....and my first digital scrapbooking templates!

First up, the Patchwork Year card kit:

The idea for this kit is pretty simple. Each month of the year gets a filler card with a quilted pattern on it, and then I made matching journal cards, too!

Next, I branched out a little bit--moving away from Project Life App pocket card kits (but not too far away! LOL) and into digital scrapbook page templates.

The idea behind a digital template is that I offer up a page design with different layered elements. You replace these layered elements with your own selection of digital papers, elements, and/or cards.  I'll have to come up with a blog post that goes through all those steps, but if you are already familiar, I'll just share the templates I came up with here, and give you a page example of how it looks once you're done.

Here's the first template:

Basically, I created a page that is made up of two large photos (with frames), a journal box with a frame, two flower shaped place holders (where you could put your own elements), all on a quilt pattern background.

The way templates work, you simply replace all the layers with your own stuff-photos, papers, elements, and/or cards.  I made the quilt-looking background into three colors: green, blue, and yellow and made each of those colors their own layer. So when you replaced the templates yellow layer with a gray digital paper, replaced the green template layer with a red paper, and replaced the blue template layer with a green paper, (and then put in your own photos, journal card, and element) you end up with something like this:

Templates are just a guide! You can still do your own thing. See how I didn't use two flowers like the template had--just added one poinsettia, and how I ended up tilting my two photos when the template had them straight.  It's all up to you!

Christmas Leftovers? Let's Make a Mish-Mash Kit!

Before we pinned down a color scheme for our Home for Christmas kit collaboration, I was already putting together some card ideas for a Christmas kit.

While these cards didn't make it into that kit, there were enough of them to throw together a mix and match kit, so that's when Xmas Mish-Mash was born!
